Sorry for not updating in so long.

I made a lot of changes to the blog today, and I am still working on it. I need to add my profile and put back some of the stuff that got erased when I put up the new design.

I haven't written in so long that I don't have a main event for the title so I just put today's date.

Well, where should I start? The MRI's came back fine, and I go back to Dr. Greene in September.

I went on two vacations since my last post. In July I went to a place called Rocky Gap with all of my mom's family. We left on a Saturday and came back on a Wednesday. On Saturday I got back from a weeklong trip to the beach at Lake Michigan. We tried to go fishing twice but the only person who caught something was Caty, and she caught a litte Gobi(Goby?).

In June I got Alex and Nat Wolff from the Naked Brothers Band's autographs! Nat shook my hand, said nice meeting you, and said I like your shirt! Also a few weeks ago I heard Barrack Obama give a speech and I shook his hand and got his autograph! On the front page of the news paper you could see my head and cell phone!

In July I went to Junior Medical Camp for a week. We took a field trip to Ben Venue Labratories and I was chosen to dress up in a sterile uniform that sorta looked like a Klu Klux Klan outfit. On the first day we did a blood test and had to prick ourselves with a thing were you press down on a button and the thing is spring loaded so it flips around and pricks you well it is being pushed up by a spring. It hurt and it was hard for me to poke myself. Today I am going to animal camp at Fieldstone Farms. It is from 9:15 to 11:15. It is a horseback riding camp. It is this whole week and then it is back to school on Tuesday! Summer went by sooo fast!

On Thursday I have school open house, and I will get my schedule then, because it is online right now and it is really messed up and confuzing.

I will update after camp.

P.S. Caty calls Obama, Labamba and it gets very annoying!

MRI

Sorry for not updating in so long!!!

I am going to make 3 posts now, one after the other, because I can't cram all 3 (actually 4) big events in one post.

On Thursday was my MRI. Erin was coming to it with me, and I was hoping she would be able to come in the MRI room, but she couldn't, only my mom could, but I didn't want my mom with me. When the nurse put in the IV, I was very calm and it did not hurt. For those of you that know me, you know that needles don't scare me one bit!! :) When she stuck the needle in, I bled a lot, probably enough to fill half of one of those milk cartons you get at school!

The MRI was not as bad as it seemed. 2/3 of the way through, she put the dye in the IV, and it made my whole arm freeze. I had to lay super still, and my head had to be strapped in. The only bad part was that is was super duper boring!!

So after the MRI, Erin came with us to the parade. She also slept over, and I have no clue when we fell asleep. We watched Titanic that night, and watched more of it in the morning.

I guess I'll just talk about 4th of July in this post, cause there's not much to say. I was sick half the day, but it was still the best 4th of July ive had, cause I never go to see fireworks cause I can't stand the noise, but I found some clay and stuck it in my ears. It worked like a charm!! :)

I am getting sorta bored of typing, so I'll do my other posts tomorrow. Hey, atleast I got one done!!

Amish Country and Orthodontist

The last 24 hours have not gone well.

First was Dr. Papandreas, the orthodontist. I don't mind going and that's not the bad part, the bad part is getting my braces tightened, so my mouth hurts VERY badly. I also got my colors changed, with bright green, bright pink, and bright orange.I have to go to the orthodontist every 6-8 weeks, and Dr. P said in 2 or 3 more visits I might get my braces off!

Also, I was trying out my new roller skates yesterday, and I fell on my butt 3 times. HARD. I mean my feet flew up in the air, so ONLY my butt the ground, meaning all my weight was on my butt. So I hurt my tailbone.

On Wednesday I went to Amish Country. We toured two different types of Amish houses, and an Amish Parochial(sp) school. We also got a ride in a buggy and went shopping.

As for my German progress, I can recite the alphabet!

Neurologist

So today was my visit with Dr. Green, the Neurologist. She took my blood pressure and listened to my heart and told me it was beating at 129 per minute, but it is supposed to be 60-80. When she told me my heart was fast, I told her that in health class we measured our heartbeats and mine was somewhere in the 120s. So now I have to go to my pediatrician(sp) for that. She asked me a ton of questions, had me walk and jump and other movement things, and she also measured me and my mom's head and said mine is big, bigger than my mom's(but I already know that I have a huge head:) So she said the muscles in my neck are tight, so she thinks they are stress headaches. Since I told her that I get them on one part of my head, I am going to need an MRI, which can take hours to do. You have to stay completly still. Also, Dr. Green said I am going to have to get an I.V. with contrast dye. I was looking up some facts about MRIs on the internet, and it says contrast dye is only used for MRIs of the heart, so I do not know if she is going to do an MRI of my heart too, for the fast heartbeat.

At 11 or so I am going to go to Amish Country with my friend so I will update after that is over.

Tomorow is my appointment with Dr. Papandreas(sp), the orthodontist, and Friday I have the ENT. I found out today that on Friday, at 2:00 I go to one doctor for hearing tests, and then another doctor in the same building for the results and stuff.

Again, I will update after Amish Country.

Kelley's Island and Put-in-Bay

I came back from vacation today! We left on Saturday. We stayed in a condo which had a full kitchen and a pool. On Sunday we went to Put-in-Bay. My favorite shop there was Del Sol, which had stuff that changes color in the sun. Also on Sunday, we stopped by my family's cottage and met even more relatives that I had never heard of. Speaking of family, this summer I'm gonna make a family tree. Sure, I already made one that goes back even far, but I am going to try to expand it.

Tomorow is my neurologist appointment, Thursday is my orthodontist appointment, and Friday is the ENT. I am wondering why my doctor sent me to and ear nose throat doctor for hearing loss, when an audiologist specializes in hearing loss. When the doctor referred me to the neurologist and ent, there was a paper with doctors names on it and there were audiologists on it. Who knows. Well I know already what is going to happen at the orthodontist; go in, get my colors and wires taken out, get in a new wire and new colors, and then the doctor comes in and talks to me and tells me how I am doing. And I pretty much know what is happening at the ENT, even though I have never been there. I mean I assume he would do hearing tests. But I have NO clue what is happening at the neurologists. Tomorow I am going to Amish Country with my friend, so I might not be able to update after the doctors, but I am not sure.

Most of my team.

My dad's luminaria. Notice the in memory.
Ok, well these pictures are from only my mom's camera, mine will be in later. Tommorow I am leaving for Kelley's Island and won't be back till like Monday, so don't expect an update, unless I can squeeze one in at the library. I am teaching my self German right now and learning the German anthem(Deutschlandlied). I'll update on my progress. I know a bit of words now. my neurologist and ENT visits are next week. I don't really care that much about ENT, just I'm scared for the neurologist, so wish me luck! Got to go pack for Kelley's!

Check out this Blog

I forgot to say, please check out my friend Rhonda's blog at http://journals.aol.com/rhondaroo97/awesomerhonda/. Also tell your friends about it.

Relay for Life

Saturday was Relay for Life. We went at 2 and walked a bit with my dog and I entered the Miss Relay contest. We came back at nine for the luminarias. We got one that said In Memory of Rick Volz, my dad. I saw some of my teachers there including Mr. Tressel(not the football coach Jim Tressel, his brother Dave). Mr. Tressel got diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 10 years ago(same type of cancer my dad died from) and he recently got diagnosed with Melanoma. It was on his cheek and they removed it, but the wound got infected. For those of you who don't know, a lot of people have had cancer in my family. My dad died of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, his mom died of I think colon cancer, and her dad died early, put I'm not sure if it was cancer. My Grandpa on my mom's side had Melanoma and Prostate cancer, but he is still living. His brother died of Brain/Breast cancer. I will post pictures of relay once I upload them. Next year I plan on staying all night.

On Friday night, I saw a couple of teenage boys run into my neighbor's backyard and he was yelling at them. The boys also had guns. My mom called the police, and the boys ran on the roof. The police caught them and then let them go with a warning, because the guns were air guns and paintball guns. The parents were called to the scene.

On Friday was my last day of school. After that, I went out to lunch with my friend Jessica for lunch.

Last night I went out to ice cream with Katrina.

Today I went to a cooking camp from 9-11 and it goes till thursday. We made Quiche Lorraine, Chocolate chip cookies, and apple turnovers.

Birthday Party

Okay I do not know what happened last time, because I posted it on May 20, but it says May 10. Anyways, I had my birthday party on May 16. I invited 11 girls, but only 7 came. All but one brought gift cards. One of my friends put the gift card in a box, and my dog ate part of the box! At my party, we went to this Japanese restaurant called Daishin where they cook at your table(hibachi). My best friend and I even tried chicken livers! When we came home we opened presents and had cake. Then we played hide and go seek but my mom made us stop:( I invited 2 girls to sleep over but only one could. Bye for now!

Severance Hall

6 and Counting!

Arghhhh, I did it again! I don't know how I keep only posting a title! On Sunday I went to Severance Hall with my mom and Grandpa Joel. First we got a tour of the place. The reason that there are lotus blossoms everywhere are because the founder's wife loved lotus and at the time of the place being built, King Tut's tomb had just been discovered so everyone liked Egyptian stuff. When the tour guide asked what was going on in the 1930's I shout "World War I" LOL. And the first woman to play with the Cleveland Orchestra was a harpist. At the time she started playing, there were no womens bathrooms so she changed onstage in her harp case! After the tour we had lunch. It was a buffet and I did not eat to much there because I was not that hungry and I did not like the food. So by the time the concert was over, I was starving so I had peanunt M&M's in the car. The concert was good. One of the songs was 45 minutes long!!! They had a short song, a chello concerto, and a violin solo. Go violins! LOL. (For those of you who don't know, I play violin.) Before the concert, I got a Bach music book at the gift shop, which turned out to have hardly any music in it :( I really need to look at what I am buying.

On Sunday I also gave my Grandpa a violin concert. I would have Saturday, but I was horribly sick.

Oh, and BTW, at school a couple days ago a Canadian band came to play. This one girl yelled "LURCH" at the top of her lungs when they were playing. That same day one of my friends' was telling her math teacher about how this one kid broke a pencil in half, then ate it. This is the teacher's reply "I hope it comes out the same way it went in. Think about how much that will hurt his little butt"

Today at science class, we got this article that had a bug mask attached. My science teacher said for halloween he would wear the mask and a speedo! Ewwww! Speedos should just be outlawed!

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

9 and Counting!

Woohoo, single digits! Well on Thursday I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with my orchestra class. We were not allowed to bring cameras, so I have no pictures, :( But the weird thing is no photography is allowed, but they sell cameras in the gift shop. We had to listen to a boring show so we did not get to see much. Here are some of the songs we heard at the show:

R.E.S.P.E.C.T - Aretha Franklin

All You Need is Love - The Beetles

Blowin' in the Wind - Bob Dylan (My new favorite!)

Black Sabbath

For lunch at the Rock Hall, I had really crappy chicken wings and an enormous chocolate chip cookie that only had 2 chocolate chips :( We got to see Elvis's car and jumpsuit, and I was in heaven when I got to see that. At the gift shop I got a cool pen, a puzzle, and some Rock Hall mints. When we got back to school, we had a pizza party. Oh, and I was watching one of my fave shows, George Lopez, last night. There was this really funny line when Angie said to George, "Honey, I love you, but you're life is really jacked up." It was really funny. At noon today, we are picking my Grandpa Joel up at the airport. Bye for now!

Doctor's Appointment

14 and counting!

Well, today I had a 13 year old check up at the doctor's. And I told the doctor at the last appointment that I had been getting headaches so he told me to keep a journal. And a few months ago I finally got around to doing that. So I had it finnished and we brought it in, and he looked at it and referred me to a neurologist. Then today I also told him how I have been having trouble hearing, so I got a hearing test. After the test the woman doing it said that I missed most of the beeps and she was getting someone else to do it again. When the doctor told me the results, he said that I am hearing impaired, so he referred me to an ENT. My mom says that we will probably have the neuro & ENT appointments in mid-June, before we go to Kelley's Island. So after I have the appointments, I will say how they went.

One other thing. My dog Cosmo has figured out how to crawl under the flooring our deck and bark at everything under it. It is very annoying.

Btw, I will try to fix the blurry pictures and add new ones. Bye!

Sorry, don't know why there are 2 extra posts, bye bye!

OAT Day 1 - Reading

Well today was my first day of OAT testing. It was the reading test. We had to be working for 2 hours and then we could read. Well I finnished and hour early so lets just say I was quite bored. Starting today I am going to start my posts like this: 21 and Counting! This is the days until my birthday, so today is 21. I am very excited, 13! Yeah! I am excited for my party to. But the bad news is I have a 2 hour cheer clinic and an orchestra concert on my birthday so that stinks. I guess that means no birthday dinner on my birthday! Well, nothing else is new, bye!

Sad to Be Back

Before I talk about my vacation, I wanted to say something about my last post. Some of you may think that it did not sound like a big deal, but a lot more happened that I just don't know how to describe. Ok, now I will talk about my vacation. It was awesome! On the first day, we just hung at the hotel. The second day we went to downtown Disney. I got a pair of Mickey ears. The third day we went to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. I have to go now, so I will talk more about my vacation tomorrow.

Bad School Day

Well I did not have the best day at school today. It all started on the bus on the home. We had a substitute. She had absolutely no clue what she was doing. We started getting nearer to my stop, when all-of-a-sudden, she skipped my stop! So I screamed at her "YOU MISSED A STOP!" When she finally heard me, she was all like "Oh no, I'm not allowed to turn there"(by this time we were about a mile from my stop!) So I said "Why the hell not!?!?" and she went "Well it is not on my list of addresses so I can't turn" Whenever we have subs on the bus they never have my stop down but ususally I just tell then when they are about to miss my stop and they just drop me off at my stop. So I ended up walking at least a mile to get home. Add to that a 40 pound book bag on my back, a purse in my hands, a lunch box in my hands and a big huge paper in my hands, well you get the point. That women was such a B****! Also I have a cold so my nose was running uber crazy the whole way home. And I was having a hard time breathing(that always happens when it is cold, also my stomach hurts when it is cold), so it was not very fun. Then I had a lot of Pre-Algebra homework. On a happier note, I got a letter in the mail notifying me that my gifted services teacher recomended me for a leadership camp. The letter came complete with a certificate of recomendation. I'm not sure if I'm going yet. I'm still so frusterated at that B**** of a lady that I could throw her out the window! My step-dad is going to be talking to the principal about that! On Saturday I am going to Florida! But I am mad cuz I will have to miss my BFF's 13th b-day party! She invited 17 girls and they are going bowling. In Florida we are going to stay at the Nickelodeon Hotel, go to Epcot in Disney World, and go to Universal Studiod/Islands of Adventure, and maybe this huge McDonalds. I've been to Disney once in like 3rd grade and we stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge, but we went to every park and this time we are only going to one. Before I finnish I just wanted to say hi to my friend Hannah!!!!! HI HANNAH!!!!!!!! I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS!!!!!

Why didn't the picture show up?

OK. Sorry. The picture for some reason didn't show up. (I hate my computer sometimes!) Let me try this again!

Another Headache

Once again I woke up with a headache this morning. I call it a "weekend headache", hence the name I only get this type on weekends, and I have them from when I wake up to when I go to sleep and medicine does not help. I want to figure out what is wrong with me soooooo badly! Bye for now. P.S. Yeah I know thats a disturbing picture! I found it in Google Images a couple minutes ago. Who would put guacamole(sp?) in a doll and then eat it? They must not have a life!
